On the first day of self-isolation for me,
A lonely boy locked up in a house.
On the second day of self-isolation for me,
Two houseparty's a day,
And a lonely boy locked up in a house.
On the third day of self-isolation for me,
Three separated friends,
Two houseparty's a day,
And a lonely boy locked up in a house.
On the fourth day of self-isolation for me,
Four homeworks,
Three separated friends,
Two houseparty's a day,
And a lonely boy locked up in a house.
On the fifth day of self-isolation for me,
Five football games cancelled,
Four homeworks,
Three separated friends,
Two houseparty's a day,
And a lonely boy locked up in a house.
On the sixth day of self-isolation for me,
Six games of FIFA,
Five football games cancelled,
Four homeworks,
Three separated friends,
Two houseparty's a day,
And a lonely boy locked up in a house.
On the seventh day of self-isolation for me,
Seven stuffy rooms,
Six games on FIFA,
Five football games cancelled,
Four homeworks,
Three separated friends,
Two houseparty's a day,
And a lonely boy locked up in a house.
But how many more days will we remain like this?
Staying at home -
With virtual schooling,
Making it harder for our teachers to teach.
But again - how long will this take,
When will the government finally wake?
So before I bring this poem to a close,
I promise we will meet again,
If we stay strong we will overcome our foe,
And then there will be sunshine,
There will be laughter,
There will lazy gatherings in the park once more.
I think this is one of your best poems Maanas :) Love the last stanza in particular. There will surely be laughter and sunshine again.
Your poem is well written Maanas. We all have to be strong and build our immunity to overcome this virus and lead a more normal life.
You know, that is the longest of my seven posts on this website. It has 1,451 letters!
Really, 43 days already?!
Love the poem. The days do blur into one after the first few. 43 days and counting now....
