POEM OF THE WEEK
Being Locked up at home
Being locked up at home makes me feel
Lonely, bored yet content.
I use my imagination
Till the day's end,
And then, as normal,
I wander off to bed.
Being locked up at home makes me feel
Angry, annoyed yet not sad.
I do virtual schooling and then I am glad
That I have got my work out of the way,
Then get my exercise in
A walk-in-the-park sort of way.

Being locked up at home makes me feel
Stressed, unhappy yet calm.
I do my homework
Ahead of time,
Then sit on the sofa, reading,
Till eight or sometimes even nine.

Being locked up at home makes me feel
Grumpy, stuffy yet sluggish.
I sleep in late
Till I can rest no more,
Then after lunch,
Go to the garden -
Which I enjoy so much more!
When I'm finally out,
Breathing freedom in once more,
Although I will be joyful and excited
I will also have memories of
The goodness of lockdown.
So when I go outside as before,
Even though it will be a day to remember,
I still will miss
Going for daily walks in the park,
And clapping with the heart of the country in my hands.

WHEN WILL THE PREMIER LEAGUE RESUME?
Sunday 3rd May 2020
It's what everybody's talking about: when will the premier league resume? Well, the premier league are aiming to return to full training on the 18th of May, but that depends on the coronavirus crisis. They are aiming to go back to games in June, hopefully, and will aim to finish the season in July. This might mean that the teams might have to play two premier league games every week. The Eredivisie (Dutch first league) was cancelled without any champion, or any promotion or relegation which has been criticised as the "biggest disgrace in the history of Dutch sports". The French first league, Ligue 1, was working towards resuming the season in June, but those plans were destroyed by prime minister Edouard Phillipe when he said that no sport at all would take place until September.
VIRTUAL MADRID OPEN MEN'S
30/04/20
On the 30th of April it was the final of the virtual Spanish open. There were 16 actual tennis players in the competition and it was played as a video game tournament so no one had to go out of their houses to compete in it. The tournament had a similar style to that of the Football World Cup in 2018. It begun with four group stages with four competitors each, and in each group there was a round-robin (every team played every team). Two people progressed from each group depending on their scores. There was then a quarter final, which led on to the semi final which led on to the final. The results are on the right of this text, and as you can see, the winner was Andy Murray. If you scroll down, you can see the results for the woman's competition.

VIRTUAL MADRID OPENÂ 2020 WOMAN'S
30/04/20
Also on the 30th of April was the woman's virtual Spanish open. The competitors were all real tennis players and had the same competition style as the men's tournament. As you can see on the left, Kiki Bertens won the competition with a pretty one-sided victory. It was played in two days meaning some players might have played several games in one day.
